Yorkie Puppy Proofing Your House

Before you bring home your new cute, adorable little Yorkie puppy, it will be a good idea to danger proof your house to prevent any accidents. Yorkie puppies are teenie tiny and very fragile, making them more prone to getting hurt than other breeds of dog. Simple things can be easily looked over such as the spacing behind the refrigerator and even washer and dryer.
Your little Yorkie pup can easily get stuck back there without you knowing. Make sure to check if any of your household plants are poisonous to dogs or not. Some unpredictable Yorkie pups have been poisoned from certain types of plants. If you're not sure which ones are harmful or not, just take them all out. Move them either outside of to a higher area where they can't be reached.
(And since Yorkie pups are only about 6-8 inches tall, that's not very high!)
Make sure to pick up loose cords and wire that are on the ground to prevent chewing. Not only will they chew the cords and destroy your property but if the hair dryer, straight iron, etc. is plugged in they could get electrocuted! 10,000 volts running through a little one to three pound Yorkie is not going to result in something good. Just be sure to roll up loose cords and put them away in a cabinet or high on the counter. (Even on the counter won't guarantee your Yorkie can't get up there, they can jump surprisingly high).
These are some obvious tips for preventing your little Yorkie pup from hurting themselves, and saving you the hassle of having to replace your damaged item. There are some less obvious tips for Yorkie-proofing your home that are just as dangerous though. Read on to find out what these less obvious dangers can be in your home.
