Coughing Problem

Lately Lula Belle has been coughing alot as if something is stuck in her throat. It scares me because she has not always done this. I have heard that Yorkies have very fragile tracheas because of their size.

Have any of you heard of this? And also, what can I do to try and stop the coughing?

I don't know myself. But my dog has started doing the same thing. So if you find out would you e-mail me?Also my dog {Toby} has had to start taking steriods shots for his itching. I hate to have to give him steriods for the rest of his life. I would'nt think in the long run that would be good for him.Have you hear of anything eles that can be done for him? My new pup is doing this constantly and I'm concerned too! My girl Lexi does it sometimes when she gets too excited but Bentley is all the time!

It could be a condition known as collapsing trachea which is fairly common in yorkies. I would consult a vet to have him/her tested.

It could be a sinus problem, which you can control with baby Benadry.
Also it can be just collapsing trachea, which once your pup calms down will go away.
